The only child, an adult, of the deceased was left everything in her will. He tells us he can sell the house in 2 weeks. In NY State, is there a required waiting period for probate before he can sell the house? It is assumed that there will be no outstanding debtss at this time. He doesn't live in this state and we don't want to sign anything or put any money down until we have a better udnerstanding of probate. Thank you.
