What is the name of your state? my state is NV, but my father just passed in CA. Mother is being evasive about situation. What are my rights as far as viewing the will are concerned? She has made mention that there is an existing will, she has also has slipped to say that my father named me the executor. Should I be contacted by someone if this is true? What if the will was never legally recorded? How do I find if the will was recorded and legal?

Unless your mother files probate she can destroy the will (if in her possession) and then it doesn't exist. Your best bet is to contact the probate court where your father lived or try to find out which attorney he used to create the will (if any).
