My parents had a revocable trust terminating at their death. I've settled everything except a brokerage account.
Now several years later the brokerage company won't let me move their account until
the brokerage receives a current letter testamentary from the court. I thought the trust negated a need for such a letter? And will I be in some kind of trouble for not having done this earlier?
Officials in various states did not require the letter testamentary for transfer of other property ---they only asked for pages from the trust !What is the name of your state?
