I live in NY and the estate is in NY.

My sister died without a will. I have been appointed administrator of the estate. Here are a couple questions about the estate proceedings.

If my brother and I disagree on what constitutes a valid claim against the estate how will that get resolved?

Since I am the administrator will I have total veto power on which claims are valid or invalid?

You don't have total power since the court must approve of your handling of the estate. Your brother can always challenge. If there is a questionable claim then have the court rule on it or get signed approval from your brother.
