What is the name of your state? Indiana

A European rental auto insurance policy is wanting to make a disbursements to family members here in the US for the accidental death of a member of the family who resided in Europe and was killed in a MVA that happened there in Europe. The insurance company wanted to know how to make disbursements to family members here in the United States. I do not know how to set this up and what tax issues or other restrictions we have to satisfy so disbursement can happen. In that country I am told if we lived there many restrictions would be place on the disbursement to family members who were minors. The insurance company has told the family members since they do not live there that those rules do not apply to them and await instructions on how to proceed with disbursements.
