What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? North carolina

My mother died in April and her executor filed with the clerk of courts,She become ill ( or so she said) and for 4 weeks we could not reach her,I am about 200 miles away. Many of my mom's bills have gone to collection and since the mail was forwarded to me I have been making copies and then sending them to the attorney- since she set up the escrow account and is in charge. My mom's estate is rather large ( lots more than we were aware of) The attorney says she is supposedly paying the bills now. I will not know until the next round of bills or collection letters show up. What if anything can I do?
Thanks,

Give the creditors the name, address, and phone number of the executor.

If you have it, give them the probate case number, too.
