My dad has appointed me executor of his will. My question is if his estate does not have the money to take care of his debts, am I, as executor, responsible to pay these debts out of my own pocket? What is the name of your state?

A: No. That is what is called an exhausted estate. The fiduciary (i.e., executor) is not personally liable for anything the decedent did or did not do.
