What is the name of your state? Ohio

My father has recently passed away (December). He left approx 120,000 in debt (possibly more). All he had was a 401k for approx 50,000. My question is this. My mother is using the 50,000 to fix the house up to sell - it has a 100,000 mortgage on it but she doesn't want to ruin her credit. My father also had a credit card debt that my mother was just a user on it. Is she still responsible for this since there was no estate? Her income/debt ratio is already outrageous since she only makes 8.00/hr. How do we deal with the credit card companies since it wasn't a joint acct?

Thanks
