What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? My mother, who lived in San Diego County, died last month. She had a living trust but nothing had been transferred into the trust. Although she only owned her small condo (which Medi-Cal have already put a claim on), I am now faced with filing a Heggsted Petition. What I want to know is, can i file on my own, or do I really need to use a Probate attorney. I haven't got the money to spend on attorneys.
