What is the name of your state? NC
Hi,
We had a gentleman living with us for the past few years and he passed away on Feb. 11th, 2005 with no will. He was estranged from his family for the past 12-14 years. They have removed all of his personal belongings from his bedroom and the titles to 2 vehicles. We haven't heard from them in over a month now and still have items belonging to him such as tools, and equipment as well as the 2 vehicles they left. They took the titles but not the vehicles. Noone has qualified as Personal Rep. or Administrator or even applied. His estate was worth less than $10,000.00. My question is, how long do we have to remain storing his belongings before we can dispose of them? Our phone calls to his family continue to go unanswered. Thanks for any help.
