What is the name of your state? Calif.
Is the only way to get a 'letter testamentary' by going through the probate court? My Dad died in a county 500 mi. from where I live. If I have to open a probate, can I get the venue changed to my county?

Thanks,

Probate proceedings should be filed with the probate court in the county where the deceased was a resident prior to dying.
