What is the name of your state? California

My question is there is to be a trial to determine if property that was listed as tenents in common with the deceased and one of the heirs is something that could go on for a long time? The deceased paid half of the down payment, monthly payments from time to time, and lived there for nearly a year. Numerous attorneys have said that it should be open and shut, that the a half interest in the property is the estates.
Should the litigation take very long? I have heard the time frame of 1 hour to maybe 5.
The party that claims the property is all her is having her attorney take depositions in a week from 2 of the people who claim it is part of the estate.
This mess has been going on since October of 2002.
PLEASE Help
Thank you
