What is the name of your state? Illinois. I am executor of my mother's estate. There is still a mortgage left on her house. Her only other assests are her car and personal property. I have been paying the mortgage out of my own pocket until I get the letters of office from the court etc. so it can be sold. Can this money be reimbursed to me out of the sale of her assests? ie. a claim against the estate?
