What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?North Carolina I am the executrix of my mothers estate in North Carolina. I have been to the clerk of courts and have completed all the preliminary paperwork. I have put the ad in the paper for creditors consolidated all accounts into a trust account. I am a little confused about distributing the personal property. The Will states it will be divided as equally as practicable among myself and brother and sister. When I was at the clerks office the lady said I could start distributing the personal items right away since my mother had enough cash assets to satisfy any outstanding debt. Do I have to inventory the personal property first, before 90 days, and if so am I required to get appraisels or do I just figure out the values on my own. Most of her items are not worth very much and appraisals seem unecessary. Any advice would be appreciated. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
