What is the name of your state? Illiniois

I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my question.

I am curious as to the way an estate is settled when there is no will. The spouse has passed away and there were no children. There is land, stock, and cash involved. This was my Aunt by marriage, married to my mother's brother. It is going to probate now. I know her brothers, sisters (parents have passed) are intitled to share in the estate. Do the nieces and nephews on either side have any share in the estate?

Siblings are the highest order of next in line heirs, so the only way nieces and nephews would get anything is if their parents were a deceased sibling.
