What is the name of your state? Indiana Mother-in Law has a very small estate less than7$70,000.00 She has no real estate ,only several small CD's and a checking account. Will a paid on death letter with her bank avoid probate?

No. Mom has to go to the bank and have POD placed on the account(s) and name you as the beneficiary.
