What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MD

My father was a partner in a 4-person partnership that owned a piece of property in Washington DC.

Does his will need to go through probate in MD and in DC, because he owned property in DC? Or just in MD since the partnership owns the property?

Probate is normally done in the county and state where the decedent died. If additional probate needs to be done where the business or property is located, that can also be accomplished. A probate attorney will be able to advise you on this.

Did the partnership own the property and the deceased own part of the partnership or did the "partners" each have their name on the deed?
