What is the name of your state? Illinois

My deceased uncle, as far as we know, didnt leave a will. He has only two surviving family members (two sisters; my mother and Aunt Ceil). He never married and never had children. In the probate process, can anyone else besides the two sisters lay claim to any of the assets (i.e. niece or nephew of a deceased sister)?

Thank you,
