What is the name of your state? Kentucky

My father recently died and left me executrix of his estate. The will left everything to my mother. The deed to the house automatically goes to my mom and me...the checking account is joint with the three of us. There is a bill to the nursing home. No other bills, no insurance, no stocks, nothing except personal property in the house we live in. My attorney says I don't have to do anything. There is nothing to give anyone and nothing owed. He says I don't even need to go to court to dispense with probate. Is this correct? It just sounds too easy. What is the name of your state?
