What is the name of your state? TX

My father passed away in 2004 two months after his father. My grandmother had already started distributing inheritance (gas/oil and interest on cd's) to the surviving sons and my brothers and I. She said we would be in line for my father's part. Now she has passed and my uncle, the executor, has not informed us of the specifics of the will/assets. When is he supposed to do this? How do do we know if he is being honest in listing all assets? What is the name of your state?

Has probate been opened? If so, you should be able to contact the local courthouse and ask for a copy of the will.
