What is the name of your state?Connecticut.
My family lawyer retired and I received no notification of this.

Is this normal practice?

He just handled probate and estate matters for me.

I have copies of all documents I think I need.

Is there anything else I need to do before selecting a new lawyer?

Thanks,

Dan

**A: yes for him. The proper practice is to notify all clients in writing and advise the clients to come pick up their files.

**A: no, since the new lawyer will do all the paperwork needed.
