What is the name of your state? Texas

My grandfather, (92 and a former county auditor) recently died and my grandmother is having a hard time understanding what to do to complete the will process.

She has little money.

The will left by my grandfather is a simple will.

What is the probate process and how would a non-lawyer go about the process?

My grandmother would say thanks for your helping out.

Also, no problems with creditors or tax problems exist.

She just needs to get everything cleared up and set straight...as the simple will intended.

Just wanted to add that I and others will be assisting her as we can.

I have read that probate is the typical legal process, which means picking your pocket unjustly and taking their time to do so.

Just wanting to know roughly what the step by step process is.

Thanks.
