My ex-friend/neighbor ended up only moving a couple of cities away. Me and my family were the ones that ended up moving further away in the end.
Ultimately, I decided she wasn't worth the time and frustration. I decided to take the better advice offered here and consider it an important lesson...
Well, here we are, finally nearing the end.
My daughter is well into 5th grade now and enjoys choir. We're just wrapping up our final settlement offer before petitioning everything with the court. We have since moved on from our previous living situation and we are all so much better off...
Hi @zddoodah, thanks for your time.
Regarding, "Can I figure out all the costs for small claims, serving, collection costs, etc., and include that in my initial cclaim" I wasn't doubting my ability to do this as much as I was wondering if I could include those in my claim in a worthwhile...
That's unfortunate but I appreciate the reality check none the less.
I guess at this point I need to decide if I want to throw a bit more money at it on principle and just hope for the best (like maybe she'll just cough it up with the idea of impending court and potential debt record) and have...
Thank you @adjusterjack. That was very informative and helpful and I appreciate it very much. I think if I do decide to go this route, I'm going to do it this month before they move and just sell the debt. You do bring up a good point that it could have been worse.
As for the background check...
Also, forgive my lack of knowledge, but if the loan was intended for them all and agreed upon by them all, wouldn't they be party to it? They all discussed it and agreed to it before I sent her the money. I have a neighbor witness who was there when that discussion took place the day I wired the...
Thank you for your opinion and thoughts.
Out of curiosity, do you know what she was talking about as far as saying she'd quash a warrant? That really took me by surprise. I couldn't find any information on warrants being served over small claims court rulings.
I know she works and will pick...
My daughter is about to graduate 4th grade. How time flies. All of this began the summer before 4th grade.
My kiddo is doing well. Only has once in awhile night terrors. Mood is much better. Little to no head pain most of the time.
Attorney still doing attorney stuff. Everything seems on...
I live in Washington State.
Last year in April I loaned my downstairs neighbor-friends $1000 to help them pay off their rent debt so that they would not be evicted. I was told they would pay me $100/week until it was paid off. I made it clear I needed it paid off in full by August.
Obviously...
I just got a notification from my attorney. I haven't heard from her in awhile. They're currently working on the apartments declarations right now. I'm interested in knowing what they have to say for themselves, that's for sure.
Well, I'm not surprised, but our lease renewal came around and they've increased our rent by $200 a month.
Unfortunately there's not much I can do about it given WA doesn't have any rent increase restrictions.
It definitely stings even still, though.
In other news...
My daughter has started...
Thanks, Blue. Appreciate the shared enthusiasm for my kiddo.
Edited this out since the issue was resolved with my neighbors and I don't wanna put anyone on blast.
Hi again,
It's been a long time since I posted. As most of you probably already know, I've been instructed by my attorney to be careful what I put out there at this time, so I won't go into too much explicit detail.
First, my daughter is still recovering but things are looking better for her...
Yeah, I mentioned the 'crime tape' to another neighbor that pledged to add it to the now re-placed traffic cones. I also took many photos and video again and forwarded them to our paralegal.
It seems many of the neighbors are now voicing themselves plenty. Maybe they'll finally just replace...
The slide was placed back up today and the playground re-opened. The slide was screwed in at the top this time, but faced the corner post of the ladder (where my daughter hurt herself) instead of away from it like it should be. It has, at maximum, 2 feet spacing between the bottom of the slide...
It's very much appreciated. I hold no ill-will toward anyone giving me free advice I asked for. I am only attempting to be thorough in explaining my position. (And I might be slightly edgy but that's not anybody's fault on these forums.) Thank you for your time and well wishes for my daughter...
