What is the name of your state? Illinois. Iwas convicted of delivery of a controlled substance 20 years age. I would like to see about having the record sealed or expunged or whatever. What steps do I take?

Delivery of a controlled substance was the felony. It seems from the info you sent that expungment will not be an option. A pardon may be the only way to go. Do you know how to this?

Yes. It starts with contacting the governor and asking about pardon procedures. You must understand that a pardon is very seldom given and usually due to some specific action.

Well, if expungement isnt an option, and pardons are rarely given, what other options are available? A mistake 20 years ago should not overshadow 20 years of good citizenship.

*** It doesn't. The issue here is.... you simply did the crime and was found guilty. Unless your state allows expungement, or you get a pardon from the governor, the record will remain.
Of course, you could always talk with your local state legislator and see about changing the law to allow expungement.
