There is no legal difference between pleading no contest and pleading guilty except that a plea to a misdemeanor is not admissible in a civil suit or certain licensing proceedings. The time for appealing has long passed and there is very little to appeal after a guilty/nolo plea anyway. If you are on probation and you successfully complete it, you can petition the court to seal the conviction.
