Question

Confused on amount of jail time, registry, and bail requirements for sex offender?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

So, my stepdaughers stepdad(confusing i know) just got out on bail for ALOT of charges. 3 counts of stagatory sexual assault, 3 counts of indecent sexual assault, child pornography on a computer, possesion of a weapon of crime, aggravated assaulted, reckless driving, endangering the welfare of children, intent to cause bodily harm, and more but i don't have the paperwork handy at this moment.(its in the car) He's had two trials already which he stopped in the middle and plead guilty to all charges. His sentencing is Dec. 21. His next trial starts Nov. 3. I am very confused because i am hearing all different statements about this. I have talked to the DA's office as has my husband. His plea bargain for one of the trials was 10 years in jail, 5 years of parole and 10 years on megans law. Now that trial was just for one count of stagatory sexual assault and indecent sexual assault. When everything first happened they were still adding charges, then some were changed ect. The DA's assistant has told us probally 5-10 years. The victims moms have told us they were told he's facing up to 49 years. The last DA which quit conviently a week ago told us up to 20 years. The new DA has not yet gotten back to us yet. My stepdaughter's mother is trying to tell us that his public defender swears he'll only get up to 5 years because they are the same charges not matter the number of counts and he's a first time offender. She also says they will count his time in jail(10 months) so if he gets a year and half he'll only be in there for 8 months. Also she claims that he will not have to register on megans law, and the da office ASSURED us that he will? Now, if he does register when he gets out will he still be able to live in a home with any child? Also his bail requirements state that he is not to have contact with the VICTIMS, but does not prohibit him from being around my stepdaughter or any other child. And since one of his charges is child pornogaraphy on a computer would it be in his bail requirements that he is not to use a computer or internet? Because he is always online on his myspace account. We were told by the clerks of courts office that we are not allowed to know the full content of his bail requirements, just his address because its his right to privacy. They also told us that it just states victims because we don't want him around my stepdaughter(We signed papers with an attorney to go for custody on friday). Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get an idea on what will REALLY happen until the new DA gets ahold of us. Any insight would be appreciated!
