| There are many ways to get released early. It would be unusual to do everday the person was sentenced to. He could get parole or be released early for "good time". If the person is in an Ohio state prison than this would strictly be a department of prisons decision. Most states have a website for the prisons and inmate status. However, I am not sure about your states law. Perhaps such a website would violate a privacy issue and does not exist. Whatever the situation, your 1st step would be to call the prison and ask them or try and access a local website. I'm not sure how much good a lawyer would do in this situation. Perhaps answer some questions. If this is a federal matter than the same concept applies, but the inmate is more likely to serve a greater portion if the original sentence. |
