What is the name of your state? IL-and IN

A relative was incarcerated for approx. 18 months in the state of Indiana for receipt of stolen property and violation of parole (for the same charge). At the end of his sentance, he was given permission to leave the state to move in with relatives, and the state of Illinois agreed to take resonsibility for his parole. He was assigned a parole officer, and all was good...EXCEPT he got in some minor (sorry for this seeming pun...!) trouble based on the report from the father of a girl he was seeing (from what I understand, the girl was a minor, didn't come home on time one evening, and was reported as a runaway by her father. The father alleged the 2 were headed out of state. She later returned home. There was no proof the 2 had left state, just the word of the father.

Illinois revoked his parole---though it was never proven the 2 had even skipped the state, and there hadn't been any allegations of statutory rape or anything like that---and sent him back to Indiana. Indiana, upon review of his record and charges, said he should not have been violated (is that the right word?), that the charges that were unwarrented. They didn't want to keep him, said it was Illinois problem to deal with....he was released, given some papers, and told to contact his Illinois parole officer when he arrived back in Illinois.

He did call. Mutiple times. That officer never called him. When he's tried to contact Indiana about the situation, Indiana tells him talk to Illinois. Illinois says he's Indiana's problem, because they've revoked his parole....So what on earth is the guy supposed to do?! He's on parole-but yet he isn't!?! (of course, this is rather a scarey thought...how many other guys like him are on the streets? Perhaps ones far more of a danger to society than he!)
