Question

recommendations from PO???

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida

My boyfriend was recently pulled over for loud music. the officer ran is stuff and came back to ask if he can search the vehicle. They found cannabis which of course violates him and also gave him a new charge. the charge is now a misdemeanor, but the VOP is a felony.

the probation officer recommended no jail or prison time, but suggested house arrest or restitution center.

is this recommendation good enough or strong to keep him from prison?

Courts will generally go by the PO's recommendations.

There's no guaranty though.
