Sentencing

Name of Sate: Colorado
My mother-in-law turned he slef in over a year ago for embezzelment of $50,000 and up. The attorneys have been putting it off and putting it off. Now she finally goes for sentencing in August. Her attorney keeps telling he that she will get off with just parole?! Is he feeding her a line, or could that be all that happens from this. I just don't want the rest of the family to be in complete suprise if she is placed in jail.

Yes, because I'm sure the family would be unduely shocked to hear that a person guilty of grand larceny would go to prison.

I know she should go to prison, it is the rest of the family that really thinks that she is fine....but you don't have to be an ass about it. I know she is guilty and I know there are definitely consequences for her actions… and should be. I was just curious if this "attorney" she has is just blowing smoke up her skirt to make her think he is good at what he does, because she has it in her head that she will only get probation…if that!!!
