What is the name of your state? Virginia

5 year sentence, 5 years suspended 3 years active probation
Special conditions of probation include no contact with victim.

It has been 3 1/2 years since conviction. Would contact with the victim be a violation of the supended sentence? Would being convicted of other crimes be in violation?

yes to both...active simply means reporting... you are now on "inactive" status until the completion of your suspended sentence - which can and would be re-enstated if you violate any part of it...
