trying to modify probation

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?California
I am on formal probation for 4 years. For possession for sales of meth. I am a DJ and play at alot of clubs and bars but part of my probation says that i can not work as a DJ for the public only for private events that are closed to the public . This is what the D A wanted and my lawyer agreed to it. I did my time its been a year 1/2 no problems i work at a college and follow all laws of probation e.t.c. "Im broke" and i could be working as a DJ making some good extra money. I tryed to get this changed once and was denied by the judge he said i made a deal with the DA and he is not going to change now. I had a public defender who did a good job presenting my request. I pay child support, court fees, a 1,500 trial fee, probation,e.t.c. This is not a hobbie this what i have been doing for the past 10 years. How can i get them to change this ? Would a private lawyer be any better really?

You can ask for modification again. You don't say why the court imposed this condition of your probation, so I can't say why it refuses to modify that condition. The court will probably not be sympathetic to the being broke argument because there are many other jobs besides DJ'ing in clubs. Private attorneys are not better in CA, and sometimes they are worse. The public defenders are the ones who have the experience.
