What is the name of your state? California

I've pled to an infraction for theft and I'm having an attorney to clear the record. He told me the judge wouldn't allow it and I may have to change my plead to a misdemeanor then MAYBE I could clear it. I have till Oct 26 to reply to my lawyer if I decide to leave it as an infraction theft or change to misdemeanor and have it cleared.

He said (according to the judge) that its a possibility but not for sure for me to clear it if I change plead to misdemeanor. How would the infraction theft affect my chance of employment? What do you think I should do? Thanks!!!
