How appropriate wicked step mom lives in a trailer park just what you expect to see on cops.

My response:

Thanks for the update and the compliment, Tarina!! This is terrific news. Let's recap the situation, and my response, for everyone out here in Cyberland . . .

Tarina's intitial Question:

This may sound silly but it is truely causing alot of friction in our family. Will try to make it short and to the point.
My parents are divorced and both re married. My mom and step father have had there dog for 10 years, but had to move overseas they give the dog to my brother to take care of but a month later he goes up north to work so he then asked my real dad and step mother to watch the dog for a few months until he is settled, and the agree.
Six months goes by and my real mom and dad come back from overseas for a visit and want to take the dog back with them. Now step mother is refusing to give the dog back - she says that after 72 hours the dog is considered abandoned. She "says" that she has contacted a lawyer? She as also refused any attempts to try and resolve this in a normal maner- we have even offered to buy her a new dog!!! I would just like to know if she has any legally right to the dog??? It is a pure breed pekinese, I have all her papers ect. Looking for any suggestions.

My response:

She has no ownership interest; however, she is entitled to money for the care and feeding of the dog. The owner needs to file a criminal complaint for theft of the animal, and to show proof of ownership to the police. Your stepmom and/or father will be taken into custody when a Citizen's Arrest is made by the dog's owner, because that breed of dog is very valuable. Stepmom is working on borrowed time, and walking on very thin ice with this one. Before the police arrive, make sure to tell her to pack a toothbrush - - she's going to need it. And, perhaps, a hacksaw blade.

Keep us informed.

"Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?"
