A relative is 3 months behind on truck payment. Papers have been sent to reposess. He is in hiding, NO ONE can find him or contact him. Now they have papers saying that the sheriff is involved and he is harboring. They say it is not stolen property. When they find him is this arrest, and jail time, or just taking the truck back.
His mother is in tears and very worried. Please answer promptly, thank you.

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Common sense dictates this is both jail time AND a fine.

To figure out punishment in a general fashion, go to the freeadvice.com homepage click on state statutes, click on your state and then check your criminal or penal code.
