Can someone please tell me what that entails ...does that mean that the person doing the "election" ...gets half of the gross or nett of the estate ...or can you eplain in simple terms what the formula is that would be used to find this out ..this is a husband electing agaist his wife will in the state of Kansas...Thanks

You can elect to take “an elective-share amount” of the estate, equal to the value of a percentage of the estate.
