A relative of mind recently was charged with Attempted First Degree Murder. Is there such a charge as Attempted First Degree Murder? Because it sounds like to me either you murdered someone or you didn't. Would this charge be Aggravated Battery instead? The defendant's attorney has offered a reduced charge of Attempted Second Degree Murder? Can you help me understand which charge is correct in a situation where a party was serious injured. Thanks in advance.
