I suffer from anxiety and depression. Because of my mental illness, I have a hard time holding a job. I'm not using this as an excuse for shoplifting but because I didn't have money. I was caught shoplifting shampoo and other grooming items last month. This month, I got a summons to appear in court. They are charging me with a class B misdemeaner. Can anybody tell me what this is? And what might happen to me?

Any help would be appreciated!

You'll be alright, especially if you've never been arrested for anything before. They'll probably put you on ARD, which means you'll be on probation for a while and be ordered to pay court costs, and maybe also community service. As long as you don't get into trouble while you're on probation, it will be erased from your record.
