What is the name of your state? new jersey

My uncle passed away and left monies to several family members.

The will has gone through probate and has been recorded in the county clerks office.

All of his bills have been paid, including funeral expenses. There are no taxes to be paid. There is no property involved. The contents of his apartment has been taken care of.

Since there is nothing else pending shouldn't the disbursement of the monies take place? Can the executor "hold out" for no good reason? How long should we wait and whom can we contact (other than the executor to find out what the hold up is).

Is there a time limit involved in paying out the monies if all other matters of the estate have been resolved?
