What is the name of your state? New York Hi, Due to difficulties during probate of brothers will original lawyer for us, told us we should each get our own lawyer due to friction, now other party does not want the money to come out of estate funds???Is the estate liable for the lawyers fee???thanks B.M

My response:

The "first lawyer" represents the Executor and the interests of the Estate, only. If you want representation to represent your interests as against the Executor, or other heirs, then doing so is on "your dime", and the Estate is not responsible therefor.

lawyers Fess continued!

I may have not made myself clear, the first lawyer dropped us, did not want anything to do with the estate anymore due to "bickering" had to get a new one, how else could I handle all that was going on legally???Help.
