What is the name of your state? Vermont
My father recently died. His estate isworth over $400,000.00. He left, in his will, my sister and I $1,000.00. The balance is left to cousins. Do we have any grounds to fight this? This will was signed off in 1997 and he was legally blind. Thank you.

It's a shame that he thought more of his nieces/nephews than of his own children.

You have no grounds to contest--he has the right to leave his money to whomever he wants. Please be sure to read the will thoroughly before you consider contesting--usually there is a penalty clause in there that mentions whoever contests it will wind up with nothing.
