What is the name of your state? Nevada

My husband does not want me to keep his name after our divorce. Can he legally make me change it back to my maiden name?

He's right

Stephen's right. No one can MAKE you change your name.
Any change would have to be spelled out in the divorce papers. And you would have to agree to it.

Hope this helps!

Generally, if it's a long-standing marriage -- or if there were kids -- the wife choosed to keep the husband's name for consistency purposes.

If it was a short marriage with no kids, the wife usually goes back to the maiden name.

But it's TOTALLY her choice. He doesn't decide that issue.
