Is it illegal or just UNETHICAL for a sales person to provide a big discount on a service or product (though still within his/her company's pricing matrix) if the buyer purchases something else(on the side, seperate product and transaction) or "donates" money to the sales person in exchange for the bigger discount?

I'm in a tough business and believe one of the salesmen from one of my biggest competitors is doing this! I feel he is gaining customers that I would otherwise be getting...is there anything I can do or should I just take my losses and keep my values? Thanks.

From this site: "State Laws vary greatly. Include your state in all postings."

Read California's "Business and Professions Code" section 17200.
