I'm suing a former employer for breach of contract. I have a case. The job was in Tennessee. I now live in Georgia and the corp. hdqtrs for former employer is in Virginia. Because of that and the fact that I'm asking for a higher amount, they had the case moved to federal court. My attorney says it will cost more because of the extra paperwork to file in federal court, and the federal judges in that city are pro-big corporations. Should I continue or drop it? I'm just one little person seeking justice and have never sued anyone before.

My response:

Now, how can we possibly give you an opinion on this? Only you and your attorney know the facts and I, for one, cannot second-guess your attorney. One thought, however: Most times in this life, we may only get one chance to grab for the "brass ring." If you feel strongly about your position in the matter, and you give up, you'll go through life saying: "If only I had . . . ." or "What if . . .?"

Thanks for writing.
