Our company was recently bought out. During the transition we lost many benefits and just learned to live with it, after researching and finding out we had no options. But now the company is telling us " We have To" be on - call 1 week a month. They refuse to pay us any on - call pay, but we will be terminated if we do not respond within 2 hours. And we are on - call for 3 counties. So driving time alone can consume that 2 hours. We get paid for the time we get to job till we leave job. But no on - call time or travel time is this legal? This is a major inconvenience to our families as well as ourselves.
