I live and work in Michigan. I have heard, from friends who still work with my former employer, that management is fabricating the circumstances under which I was "laid off." Is there anything I can do or say to get them to stop?

My goodness, young lady. We have a few issues, don't we? Okay, tell me what the exact reason YOU believe you were let go, and exactly what you are hearing from the other employees.
