i live in new york and i recently left one job for another. i gave 3 weeks' notice and let bookkeeping know to cancel my health insurance, to be effective august 1, 2002. when i received my paycheck on august 15th, health insurance was deducted. they said that was due to health insurance they hadn't deducted from me in november and december of 2001. i told them i was unaware of this and not to do it again on my last paycheck. i picked up my final paycheck today and it was deducted again. is any of this legal?
