I live in Virginia and I'm wondering if I can have my adoption, by my step-father, overturned. I was eight at the time, I didn't really know my biological dad and it was thought that having my step-dad adpot us (my brother and I) was the best thing (insurance purposes). I no longer have any contact with him. (he could be dead for all I know) and I wish to have my biological father's name as well as him have the rights of a father. My biological father did not contest the adoption because at the time, he was out of the country and no where to be found.
I'm also Native American and there's certain priveledges that I am entitled to but because my biological father's name is not on my birthcertificate, I am considered a "white" person there fore, I am not entitled. Any help and guidence would be greatly appriciate.
