Am I reqired to use the social worker appointed to do the social study by the district court? The reason I ask this is:
We are handling the uncontested (thus far) step parent adoption on our own and received a letter stating a social study on my husband must be done. The person appointed by the 325th district court charges $400.00. The paralegal that has help us up to this point said the cost usually doesn't exceed $200.00. Am I getting taken to the cleaners?
