What is the name of your state? New York

We hired an employee from Detroit and moved her to New York, she worked for the company for 2 months and quit, can we deduct her moving expenses from her last paycheck?

My response:

What does the written, signed, contract say about this issue?

There was not signed contract between the employee and the company.

Well, then there's your answer on the issue of the moving expenses.

On the issue of her salary - - pay her, in full.

Damn why couldnt i get a free all expenses paid move to the city of my choice, with nothing in writing as to how long i have to work for the company....

Oh well there goes the gravy train.......

PS...NY is very strict about paycheck deductions, and you could be fined heavily if you dont pay her in full.
